Although he has proven himself as a proficient business owner, Zachary also holds a great deal of interests that help explain his confidence, strength and intelligence as an entrepreneur in one of the largest cities in the world.

We get the best ingredients and fuss with them the least.”

A Passion for Fitness
Since Zachary Zaitzeff was a young age, he has always displayed a passion for outdoor recreation, especially in the realm of endurance sports activities. With such passion, he made significant contributions to cycling and cross-country running teams during his high school years. Although Zachary ultimately shifted to pursue a greater focus in business and restaurant development, he has still found time to follow athletic pursuits. In the more recent years, Zachary has become a notable mountaineer having reached the summits of many incredible destinations, including the ever-challenging Mount Everest. He notes that such outdoor recreation opportunities have not only benefited his physical and mental fitness, but have also allowed him to explore many unique regions of the world and see cherished natural landmarks up close and personal. As a sports fan, Zachary has always remained a New York Yankees supporter, as well as an intensive follower of cycling events, such as the Tour de France.
A Passion for Art
Zachary explains that artistic creation has served as a great outlet for him throughout the years. Despite having many business responsibilities and athletic pursuits, he has remained a major fan of creating personal pieces of art. Particularly, Zachary focuses on making abstract pieces with oil and canvas, as well as crafted mixed media works. As a supporter of the artistic community, Zachary has partnered Zaitzeff Burgers with New York City art events and groups, such as Casita Maria Center for Arts and Education.
In addition to his own artistic creation, Zachary Zaitzeff enjoys the creative works of others, especially when it comes to music. He is a major fan of jazz, and particularly enjoys the sounds created by such musical legends as Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis and Nina Simone. Although not a musician himself, Zachary notes that this pure form of music is one that can prove rather inspiring.
A Passion for Charity
Although Zachary has found a way to give back to the public by helping supply great-tasting burgers, his community involvement extends way beyond serving as a restaurant owner. For instance, he has remained committed to nutrition by supporting a charity that supplies clean water to children in need of these goods. Having experienced the many hardships associated with mountain climbing, Zachary has also sponsored a few mountaineers so that they too could experience the true sense accomplishment of reaching a mountain summit. In addition to these efforts, Zachary is noted for providing financial donations to the Wounded Warrior Project—an organization that aims to provide assistance and resources to American service men and women who were injured during their service.
Zachary Zaitzeff: The Mountaineer
As previously noted, Zachary Zaitzeff is an enthusiastic mountaineer who has summited some of the most challenging mountains found across the globe. While he has always had a passion for athleticism, he notes that this particular recreational activity did not become a hobby until later in life. After a friend exposed him to the joys of mountain climbing in Ecuador, Zachary has become increasingly focused on this rare, yet rewarding sport. Here are some highlights from his mountaineering history:
- Mount Everest, Nepal
Marveled by many, summited by few, Mount Everest is recognized as the highest mountain in the world at a peak of 29,035 feet. Zachary reflects on this climbing experience as one of the most difficult, yet most notable accomplishments of his mountaineering career. It took him approximately two months to reach the summit, during which time he faced extreme low temperatures and other obstacles.
- Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
This dormant volcano follows closely behind Mount Everest in terms of height, with an elevation of 19,341 feet. It is the highest mountain in Africa, and is also noted as the highest “free-standing” mountain in the entire world. Although scenic, this trek requires at least six or seven days for climbers to reach the summit.
Making the Accomplishment
Zachary Zaitzeff has also had extensive experience mountaineering at Mount McKinley in Alaska, as well as at Mount Cotopaxi and Mount Cayambe in the Andes Mountain Range. While climbing a mountain is certainly no easy task, Zachary notes that anyone with the right preparation and mentality can take on the challenge. He explains that the rewards of reaching the top of a mountain are very hard to put into words and that these experiences can only truly make sense if achieved firsthand. Zachary Zaitzeff encourages anyone interested in mountain climbing to take lessons and to start small before taking on major summits.
